Epuck.com is a Lafayette based online ecommerce company selling roller hockey skates, equipment and gear. The website features a comprehensive catalog and also includes community features like coaching, workshop tips and chat events. It also features product news and reviews.

Innasite 's brief was to migrate the existing web application from IBM NET.Commerce to IBM Websphere Commerce Suite 5.4. This required rebuilding the complete flow using IBM WCS 5.4 and integrating with other third party softwares. The entire data was migrated and the users did not have to face even a days interruption in service or need to reregister or change password.

The web application is divided into two distinct parts, Shopping and Community. The shopping domain is handled using WCS 5.4 and the community section has been developed in Java deployed into the WCS framework.

The highlights of our solution:

1. Payment integration with Verisign Payflow Pro
2. Providing custom order management interfaces outside of the built-in support from WCS 5.4 to suit the customer needs.
3. Fedex Power PC shipping workstation integration through Java RMI Server & Client
4. Automating migration process by mapping Net.Commerce to WCS 5.4 with the help of Data Junction.
5. Application tuned to utilize the Websphere Commerce Cache for handling high and concurrent traffic

Technology Used:

The Application is built on the IBM WebSphere Advanced Edition V3.5 with DB2 V7.1 as the relational database. The framework utilizes the MVC architecture and related design patterns with JSP/HTML templates for the presentation and XML for data portability between the Java RMI application and the web application itself. Business logic and controllers were implemented through Java Beans and EJB.
